Perhaps we fail to see the great gift of the age we live in. That gift is that we've never before had access to so much of our history, particularly that of ancient spiritual traditions, and we've never before had so much scientific understanding about the world. It seems almost absurd to not take advantage of this. It's a great opportunity.
To anybody who thinks deeply about it, both approaches have their merits and offer great truths about our existence and about the world around us. Instead of fighting, as though one approach is right and the other approach is wrong, why not look for the common ground? Why not find the Rosetta Stone deciphering key, so to speak, that would show us that spirituality and materiality and ancient wisdom and modern science are actually saying the same thing, but from different and equally valuable perspectives? Surely, this would help us to bring together our material and spiritual worlds.
In truth, our material and spiritual worlds are One. But due to the way our Material Nature sees the world, we set these worlds apart—we set them against each other.
If we could break free of our Material Nature, honoring it but detaching from it at the same time, we would begin to see this whole question from a higher perspective. We would begin to see that everything material is also spiritual and everything spiritual is also material. Then we would no longer separate our spiritual and material lives into a sacred Sunday and secular weekdays or into sacred workshops and the secular time in between, so to speak.
How can we do this? How can we break free from our identification with Material Nature as being all of who we are and move into an expanded state of consciousness that sees beyond the illusion of a spiritual-material divide?
We can do this by applying both ancient knowledge and modern science—spirituality and materiality—to the question of our Material Nature. Ask ourselves, what is our Material Nature? How does it operate, what are its needs and desires, and how does it see the world? How does it keep us from seeing a greater reality, from living a more vibrant life of greater Presence, and from developing real will to become who we were meant to become?
And most importantly, having understood our Material Nature, how can we rise above its limited way of seeing things? How can we free ourselves of its charms, allures, wiles, and guiles? But at the same time integrate it into the greater whole of us? This integration is the doorway to our Spiritual Nature.
These questions are answered in the S.O.L.A.R.® school, which puts together ancient wisdom and solid science into practical methods for our enlightenment, healing, and wholeness.
